Goals: Intensity, Attitude, Focus
On January 23th Te Tai Tokerau took a very talented group of mixed boys and girls to the touch tournament which was held In Rotorua.
We turned up feeling ready to play in what is known as a very tough and competitive tournament. The weather gods were on our side for the entire day as the sun shone and the grounds remained soft and smooth. Perfect conditions for the sport!
We were in a pool with Bay of Plenty, and Thames Valley. Our skills came into play early and we easily beat Thames Valley 1 - 6. The team was very confident going into The second match against a very formidable Bay Of Plenty. We played our hearts out and came away with a 5 - 4 thanks to an amazing try by Te Kauri in the corner! Second Last game against  Thames Valley we beat the quit easy because we had so much coms in our team so that was good BUT!!
That meant we qualified top of our pool and earnt a spot in the semi-final against Bay of Plenty with a last minute try to our team that had carried far north  to a thrilling 5 - 6  defeat of TTT Team  in the final tournament in Rotorua.
Bay of plenty put Te Tai Tokerau Team  3 - 2 up late in the first half before the TTT Team struck back through Te Kauri  and Konrad made the last try to be a droop of us.

The droop off went down to 4 people that made our day enjoyable with Te Kauri scoring the last try with less than a minute on the clock to Konrad Kopa to break the deadlock. which we which we won  6 - 5 to us.
We had an amazing day and would especially like to thank the parents for their support and driving us to Rotorua a spoiling us the next day and that night the was very amazing.
CHAMPS OF 2017 FOR THE FAR NORTH TE TAI TOKERAU UNDER 14 MIXED.
lastly but most importantly, I acknowledge my wonderful coach  for all the hard training that you put in for our team. Nothing can spoil my journey towards being the very best, as long as i inspiration fuels my zest. No one can come in-between be and victory, as long as I have a coach like you training me.
I like to thank uncle Jimi Kopa, for the efforts and support that you've given and shared with us. But we truly appreciate all your love and kindness towards our team and parents throughout the weekend that you spent with us.
2017 CHAMPS!!!

  1. Hi Kura, I really like your story about the Te Tai Tokerau Touch Team Tournament In Rotorua. I think to fix your story a bit more is by checking it with a buddy then with the teacher. If you could just edit your post and change the very bottom line to 2017 Champs not chaps
